Summer Employment with The Food Project

The food project is an organization whose mission is to grow a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. They are currently looking for young people between the ages of 14 and 17 to participate in The Food Project - North Shore's Summer Youth Program for 2008. Here is a quick summary of what young people can expect from the summer program.

* 7.5 weeks of paid employment – 6/25/08 to 8/14/08 ($175 stipend per week – 5 days a week)

* Young people grow & distribute food and participate in community service activities (community service hours are available)

* Participate in workshops on a range of topics such as poverty and the influences of race, class, and the economy on communities and food access.
