About Us

SCI Lynn's mission is to strengthen communities by connecting diverse individuals and organizations through civic engagement initiatives. We envision a nation where individuals are strongly connected to their neighbors and play an active role in shaping the destiny of their communities. This increase in ‘social capital’ will result in communities that are safer, healthier and more vital.

SCI has spent the last several months getting to know the Lynn community through informal discussions with a wide range of community stakeholders. We are excited about starting SCI Lynn as a resource for building social capital in the community. Over the spring and summer, we will continue to work with the community to shape plans for SCI Lynn and generate resources for the program. We will also begin work on initial priorities such as the Downtown/Central Lynn revitalization process as we continue our planning and other start-up work. SCI also operates programming in Woburn and Dorchester, and also runs a statewide website for youth, MassYouth.org.
